A turning point for Emma in becoming a skilled and a very open manager was when she moved to a global role and all of a sudden the entire world was in front of her. She was working with the “world”. Emma realized the impact one can have is so big. She began repeating the same approach over and over of listening to each person, so each person knows she/he is an individual, she/he is the one. Emma made sure they know how she cares about each of them. “You can’t be good and caring to five people and then not good and caring to the sixth person because you have had enough of being caring and nice.”, says Emma. Some people actually say to Emma that she has been nice too much, now she has to change her approach. She could not and will not do that as she must be consistent. A caring leader has to be consistent!
